Great RPG game, Now Stretched!

I love this RPG. It can last for as little or long as you want. Well made and produced... EXCEPT, instead of optimizing it for 4" screened devices, they just took the image and stretched it horizontally. Now it looks different than it is supposed to look. BUT, thankfully in the menu you can switch it back to the original size! Thanks for giving us the option. For the reviewer who said it was $15 for the first chapter... What are you talking about?!? There arent chapters, and this is a fully premium game. Its $15 for the whole thing, however long it takes you to beat it.

Does FF3 only have 1 mission?

The game seems to end after the first mission. Am I missing something?

Best ff

Its still my favorite of all time. After the first chapter I couldnt get off. Its always had me hooked.

Onion Knight armor and weapon drop rate...

Played the game from the NES and DS. My main issue, is the drop rate for the Onion Knight Armor gear and their weapons. The Red Dragon drops the Armor Piece. The Green Dragon drops the Onion Gauntlets. And the Yellow Dragon drops the Onion Helmet. All of the dragons also has a CHANCE to drop Onion Sword (extremely rare) and the Onion Shield (Rare). The drops rates for all of them are HORRIBLE I spend days and days; weeks and weeks; months and months; even years! For over a year I only gotten the Onion Shields. And nothing else. The drop rate should increase more! Having the drops rates like 2-5% chance is just bad! All I keep getting is Elixir, like seriously. And when I finally get something from Onions; its an Onion Shield. At least boost up the drop rate for the Onion Armor and weapon to 25-30% drop rate. Because this 2-5% chance drop rate is annoying! I have many hours on this game to complete the set for my characters and still nothing. Please! Make the Onion Knight Armors and Weapon drop rates at least to 25-30% drop rate! I mean, finding the dragons are hard enough to find; so why make it 3x harder to find the complete set for the Onion Knight class. Please, increase the drop rate for the Onion Knights Gear and Weapon. Please.

L2R

The game is fine and good, dont listen to those souring over a "chapter" just because they dont know where to go to progress, then proceed to rate the game poorly based on their incompetence. Theres no handholding here in this FF, you may wander into an area you shouldnt and get mauled or you may just not know where to go. This is one whole game and it is beatable, dont listen to the sourcats!

Please add option for old graphics

The new graphics really ruin the game. Can we have an option to be able to play the game with retro graphics?

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Update: where are all these one star reviews coming from?! After all the updates this and every other FF title still runs perfectly! Dont listen to the trolls So I beat this game a while back as a part of my crusade to purchase and beat all FF games on the App Store. This...game...is...a...masterpiece!!!!! I LOVE the old school polygonal pixely 64-graphics. It brings me back to the days of playing Zelda on my N64. Not to mention Quest 64...the best turn-based RPG ever for the N64. Needless to say this is without a doubt the most amazing Final Fantasy game Ive ever played! By far the best and most enjoyable part of this game is the sophisticated job class system, where you can change each party members job class at any time during the game as much as you want with a total of 23 classes becoming available to you throughout the game. The boss battles are EPIC and unforgettable. Probably the best of all the Final Fantasy games, with the final boss being one of the hardest son of a guns Ive ever faced! Everything about this game is so incredibly rewarding, from beating that tough boss thats been slaughtering you to shreds to the mind blowing story line. Its the best 16 bucks you could ever hope to spend in the App Store!!!❤️❤️❤️ Next stop...Final Fantasy IV!!!!!!!

Great Port

Seems like a graphically cleaner port of the DS version. Controls are pretty smooth. Definitely a good pick for when you have a lot of time to spend.

Great port. Please change filename.

Great port of a classic, however its really bothersome that the filename on the home screen is not consistent with the rest of the franchise (FinalFantasy4, FinalFantasy5, FinalFantasy6, etc) instead its "FINAL FANTASY III" and with all those caps it cuts off at "FINAL FAN..." This is a really lazy oversight and it ruins how this game looks with the others in their designated folder on my home screen. Please change it to FinalFantasy3 to match.

Needs optimization for iPhone 6

The game does not display in native wide screen and the resolution is stretched and scaled from 960 x 640 onto the iPhone 6s 1334 x 750 resolution which makes it look ugly. Please optimize for the new iPhones.

Separate versions are ridiculous.

I purchased the handle that included this game not too long ago. This is the iPhone version, not the iPad version. I am not about to buy another version of this game to play it on the iPad. If I had known this I would never have purchased the bundle. Their other titles are available on both platforms once you purchase either, but not this one. Consistency seems to be an issue here. If you want this game on the iPad, then avoid this bundle.

Help

I payed 17 dollars for this game and received a different game. I want what I payed for PLEASE RESOLVE THIS!!!

Love the game, but has some problems

First off, I love this game and the control implementation is wonderful. That said, this game has a few things pushing against it: 1- two different versions of the game, one for iPad and one for iPhone. I purchased the iPhone one because its compatible with both, but still thats kinda weak. Id rather be able to access full resolution of my iPad instead of scaling it without having to buy the app again. Many developers have shown that this is possible. 2- price is a bit steep for an iOS app. 3- cloud saves I started on my iPad are not being picked up on my iPhone. No idea why this is but it is very unfortunate, kinda ruins the whole point of mobile gaming considering I want to play on any device any time. 3 stars because price for quality is a bit lacking. It makes a few promises that it hasnt backed up for me yet.

Great game!

I played the Nintendo DS version of this game a while back but never finished it, so I decided to pick it back up on iOS during a 50% off sale. Definitely worth it. All of the classic Final Fantasy games are a joy to play, so if you catch them on sale dont hesitate and get a few titles. You will be glad.

Great game - annoying glitches

I never played the Final Fantasy games when I was younger and they first came out state-side. On a whim (and looking for a way to waste time :) I downloaded the iOS port of FF I a couple of years ago. What a great game! And I could see why this series has endured for so long. FF II built on the first beautifully. Recently, I downloaded the 3rd installment. I really appreciate the shift to 3D, the great gameplay, fun story, tongue-in-cheek humor, etc. I haven’t been able to put it down since I downloaded it and that’s not something I can say about most games I try out from the App Store. The reason I’m not giving this a higher review is the fact that the game crashes so frequently. In the middle of a huge battle and get a phone call? Buh-bye; try again after the game quits to the Home screen and you have to wait through the splash screen and continue/load from a point before the battle. I see the game was updated in June of ’14 to address this sort of thing. But quite a lot has happened between then and now including iOS 8, iPhone 6/6+ and so forth. I think Square-Enix is a great game-making company. But they seem to follow what can be considered an old model: develop a game and release it into the wild for better or worse. It’s great they’re occasionally updating games to fix issues and bugs, but not nearly frequently enough for the ever-evolving iOS platform. To the best of my knowledge, FF I & FF II are still letterboxed for pre-iPhone 5 screens (3.5”). Likewise FF Tactics. And I paid over $10 each for these games! Yeah, the content and quality justify that cost, but not SE’s seeming lack of attention to their product. I still get attention and updates to apps I paid $0.99 or nothing for, years after their original release. Sure, they are usually (but not always) nowhere near the complexity and quality of the FF series, but I’m not left wondering if every update is going to be the last, forever stuck in 3.5” screen, 32 bit whatever. Please, Square Enix, continue to show love for your games. You’ve started to by re-releasing for different platforms, but we iOS gamers would love more attention to your ports!

Please please

Come out with final fantasy 7 that was my favorite one out of all of them.

iPhone 6+ a -

I do like the retro graphics and RPG styling, but no sound on my iPhone 6+ after iOS update.

Need an update

No support for iPhone 6 plus. Love the game been a fan. Wish it wouldnt crash when I pull down the notifications bar. Other than that it works great. Please update!

Great game, great port

Spent 80 hours on this game over the last few months and it was well worth it. Possibly my favorite in the FF series apart from Tactics and Square Enix did a great job updating the animations for this iOS version. Apart from a minor issue where the game occasionally crashes from phone alerts / sitting idle, it worked very well. Save often and start preparing now to face the Iron Giant!

Good game but...korean...
